I did this shoot on the last Saturday of December, 2020. The client wanted colorful smoke bombs and snow, and knew she would want some shots with her bow. Since winters are never predictable in Michigan, we were waiting at the ready since October.
Finally we got a spot of snow over Christmas and didn't waste any time for it to melt on us. We lit off four smoke bombs separately, each giving about 70 seconds of shooting. Out of purple, teal, blue and pink, these are my favorite shots because of the vivid smoke color. I love the bow because it's a fresh break from the traditional or trendy and it adds dimension and character along with the smoke.
Having the space to get creative with shoots is the second reason I became a photographer. I wanted the room to try new ideas or imitate photographers I follow in a creative expression of admiration.
